Alto Golf and Country Club

Location:- Algarve near Alvor. Algarve

Designed by Sir Henry Cotton, Alto Golf and Country Club is situated near the picturesque village of Alvor. Alto is designed for golfers of all abilities and enjoys a breath taking view over Lagos Bay.

White sandy beaches, a clear blue sea and fascinating cliffs are all part of Alto's charm.

Alto golf course runs through two valleys, offering winding fairways and undulating greens. The last nine holes run through gentle mountain slopes and begins with a challenging par 4 which measures 410 metres from the championship tee.

Hole number 16 is said to be one of the longest holes in Europe. A 604 metre par 5 that has been given the name "The Giant". Any player that manages a birdie on this hole will receive a certificate and have his/her name inscribed on the club's roll of honour!

Handicap requirements at Alto golf course:- Men 24 Ladies 28.

Facilities include:- Driving Range, Putting Green, Chipping Green, Nursery, Restaurant, Bar and Golf shop.
