Any golfer visiting the Lisbon area should make a real effort to visit Aroeira Golf Club. Aroeira Golf Course been carved from a dense pine forest and the tree lined fairways are frequently bordered by water.

The course is set in a 345 hectare estate, and is very close to Caparica which has a long beach with 30 kilometres of white sand. Aroeira has become one of the most famous golf courses in the Portugal, with the advantage of being just 20 minutes from Lisbon, on the south bank of river Tagus. On a clear day you can see the Portuguese capital from the first tee.

Aroeira Golf Club hosted the 1996 and 1997 Portuguese Open. Aroeira improved greatly as a resort with the addition of the new Donald Steel course which opened in April 2000 to rave reviews
