Parque da Floresta Golf CoursePar 71 - 5673 metres The Parque da Floresta golf course was designed by Pepe Cancedo, one of the most famous Spanish architects, whose philosophy for the construction of golf courses involves making minimal alterations to the existing terrain. Its widely varying holes run along valleys, past vineyards and eucalyptus-covered ravines, while the course itself is flanked by olive, palm and pine trees. At Parque da Floresta Golf Course the first hole is a 312 metre par 4, bending gently towards the rising sun and presenting a serious challenge for those seeking to reach the green in just two shots. The first nine holes end memorably, for at this last hole the third shot onto the green must be chipped over a stream. On the second half of the course, the highlights are holes number 11, where the green is protected by water, and number 18, which ends in an amphitheatre beneath the typically Portuguese clubhouse. From here, golfers can enjoy spectacular panoramic views over both mountains and sea and a general view over eleven of the courses holes. Handicap certificate preferred, but not essential.
