Praia d'el Rey was opened in 1997 and is already one of the premier courses in Europe. Golf World Magazine has ranked Praia d'El rey the third best golf course in Portugal and thirteenth in Europe.

Praia d'el Rey Golf Club was designed by american golf architect Cabell B. Robinson, the course makes full use of the splendid sea views, spectacular cliffs and sand dunes as well as traditional umbrella pines.

Praia d'el Rey Golf Club is a very long golf course, and this modern links has 5 different tees making it enjoyable for all standards of golfer.

Praia D'El Rey Golf and Country Club is a beachfront resort near the historic town of Obidos, less than one hour's drive from Lisbon International Airport via the A8 motorway system.

The resort itself consists of 600 acres (200 hectares), whose landscape is as richly varied as the surrounding countryside.
