Vale do Lobo Royal Golf Course Algarve18 Holes 5655 Metres Par 72 Founded 1997 The Vale do Lobo Royal Course combines the former yellow nine hole course designed by Sir Henry Cotton and nine new holes adapted by Rocky Roquemore from Cotton's original plan. Set amongst orange, fig, and olive trees and rolling pine covered terrain, this course incorporates the famous spectacular par 3 sixteenth hole. Teeing off over three cliff tops, this hole is probably the most photographed in Europe. It is now joined by the new 7th and 9th holes, both boasting glorious lakeside views, giving the Royal Course three par 3 holes which are probably second to none in the Algarve Attention to detail and concern for the natural environment play a major part in the Royal course design with wild flowers planted around the lakes and care given to preserve as much of the natural forest as possible. The well maintained course makes it such a beautiful place to have a game in. For those of you who maybe don't often play golf but instead spend time playing bingo or going out with friends, you will find this a really lovely activity to do, especially on this course. You can get some fresh air and gentle exercise in beautiful surroundings. Each hole on the Vale do Lobo Royal Course has enough individuality to stay in the memory and Rocky Roquemore has cleverly avoided any clashes in visual harmony. The course has championship tees and is more difficult than the Ocean Course. This is because of its more interrupted terrain, the amount of water and sand obstacles and its generally longer holes. Handicap requirements Men 27 Ladies 35 Facilities include:- Driving Range, Putting Green, Chipping green and Restaurant.
